About This Project

The sculpture “Pressure” of Amancio Gonzalez Andrès is composed of three elements: two inorganic or geometric concepts and one organic concept. The latter is subjected to an enormous pressure, but the human figure is resisting. The sculpture depicts the exact moment when one of the elements gives way under an enormous pressure, then overturns. The other element, the weightlessness, casts doubt upon the possible fall of the figure. The work symbolizes the exact moment of the figure giving in to maximum pressure… the drifting.
